I can wander to my heart’s content out in the desert and never feel lost. It’s almost like I become one with nature. I can hear a single bee or fly. I can see the blooms and beauty that surrounds me without feeling the need to drive through it quickly. I’m away from the urban life and have stepped back into a world that is much older and one that doesn’t require my approval. We’re only on this planet such a short time and seldom leave it any better than it was. The desert is timeless and makes this planet so much better. If one is lucky, one can learn from it. |

These saguaros are in bloom: Late spring/early summer.
They grace the city of Tucson with their color for a few days only each year.
Lots of folks are way too busy with every day life to notice and miss it every year.
I try to notice these little things in life that go on around me.
Some of us believe that it’s the little things in life that make it all worth while. |

And things like this are what makes Arizona what is Arizona.
After all, it’s not like I can go to Boston or Miami and see better ones. |
